Co-PresidentAddie Kapsnershe/her/hers
Senior Major: Health and Human Sciences (International Health emphasis); Spanish "I joined CHIP because it allows the opportunity to provide direct care to underserved populations in the LA community. Basic screenings, health education, and resources such as free clinics in their area actually make a huge impact to those who lack primary care doctors. One of my favorite CHIP memories was seeing the pure excitement on a child's face after winning the bike raffle at our health fair" |
Co-PresidentIxchel Bautistashe/her/hers
Senior Major: Biochemistry Minor: Spanish "I joined CHIP because I noticed that it was one of the only organizations that readily offered a hands-on experience for health screenings. In the time I have joined, not only have I had first-hand exposure to the realities of LA’s low-income communities, but I have also been a part of an initiative that utilizes our privilege as USC students to bridge the healthcare gap as much as we can." |
Vice PresidentZacari Tatumshe/her/hers
Senior Major: Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Minor: Natural Sciences "I love working with the people who live in the community around USC; it is really important that we use our time here in a way that is beneficial to them. Making health screenings easily available to everyone is a part of preventative healthcare, and with CHIP, we get to do that!" |
SecretaryAbigail Javidzadshe/her/hers
Senior Major: Health Promotion and Disease Prevention "I joined CHIP because I wanted to give back to the underserved community that surrounds USC. My favorite CHIP memory was volunteering at the Union Rescue Mission health site on Skid Row. It was so rewarding to listen to the residents’ stories while providing screenings and recommendations to promote their wellbeing. I also love the experiments with the kids that we do! It is so exciting to see the joy on kids’ faces when they get to do a cool experiment in the midst of quarantine." |
TreasurerAshley Pickfordshe/her/hers
Senior Major: Neuroscience Minor: Global Health "I joined CHIP because of the opportunity to work hands on with members of the local LA community. CHIP has always provided the flexibility to accommodate the commitments of busy college students while also providing useful real world experience and a chance to engage with the community we have become a part of through USC." |
Assistant TreasurerOliver Ramirezhe/him/his
Sophomore Major: Biomedical Engineering "I joined CHIP because I admire the organization's efforts in educating the surrounding community with unique opportunities, especially given the impact of the pandemic. This organization works to help a broad range of activities I am passionate about, such as conducting science experiments for students in SoCal through Zoom sessions and hosting a virtual health fair. I also like how CHIP strives to support the underserved community by creating connections to local community fridges near each participant's area to always fulfill the organization's goal as a supportive and charitable institution." |
